Bath Folk Festival

This is a new festival that many people have said is much needed in Bath.
There will be a multitude of gigs, An Irish Music Summer School and many workshops in Music and Dancing.

Many of which have featured at the Bath folk club in the last two years

Traditional Irish Music Summer School
Monday 9th-Friday 14th August
10am-1pm Every Day

This school is aimed at Bringing a deeper understanding of Irish Music to new and Experienced players alike.
The tutors are all experienced teachers and respected musicians.
There will be classes in The following instruments:
Fiddle: Confirmed Tutors are Henry Seers, Jane Dempsey and Gerry Hegarty
Timber Flute:Comfirmed Tutors Katherine Mann and Claire Watts
DADGAD Guitar: Confirmed tutors are Ed Boyd and Jon Hicks
Traditional Irish songs: tutored by Mai Hernon
 
Classes cost £130 for the week for adults and £90 for Children aged 18 and under. To book send a cheque made payable to: the Bath folk club to the address below and state your name, address, email, Phone number and which instrument you wish to learn.

If you wish to learn an instrument that is not listed then please contact us as we may add more if there is a significant interest. Players should bring a recording device and possibly a pen and paper. Students will need to know the basics of their instrument to apply. (Being able to make a sound, know their  basic fingering/chords etc.)
